The arrival of Swiss international and captain, Xhedran Shaqiri might be a spark that the Chicago Fire needed in the forthcoming season.

Last season, Chicago Fire failed to impress in the eastern conference where they finished 12th with 34 points from 34 games, which is an average of 1 point per game.

With the acquisition of the former Liverpool man, Chicago Fire has made a huge statement that they are not shy to doll out the funds and they are ready to compete this season.

Chicago Fire's latest acquisition has an impressive resume having played for top European clubs from his humble start at Fc Basel to German champions Bayern Munich where he won every trophy in club soccer to Liverpool where he won the UEFA Champions League and Premier League title to FC Lyon, the French giant. Big Shaq as he is fondly called has had a huge impact on Swiss soccer with his eye-popping performance at Euro 2020 where he scored great goals for the country.

What he will bring to the Chicago Fire offense will be immense, he is a serial winner.
